This page explains how to delete your Triggered account, what is deleted when you do, and what we keep afterwards and for how long. It applies to the Triggered app on Android and iOS and to the web app at my.triggered.app. You do not need to sign in to read it.
How to delete your account
You can delete your account yourself at any time, from the mobile app or the web app:
- Sign in to Triggered on your phone, or at my.triggered.app.
- Open Settings, then choose Help.
- On the Account card, select Delete Account.
- Read the notes, tick the box to confirm, and select Confirm.
Deletion starts straight away and usually finishes within a few seconds. You will see a message confirming that your account has been deleted.
If you cannot sign in
Send us a deletion request by email at info@triggered.app or through our contact page. Please send it from, or include, the email address on your Triggered account so we can confirm the account is yours. We will reply within 30 days, and usually much sooner.
If you have a paid plan
Deleting your account cancels any plan you own immediately, and anyone in a group on that plan loses access. The cancellation does not issue a refund for the current billing period. You can review your plan under Settings before you delete your account.
What gets deleted
When you delete your account, we permanently delete:
- Your sign-in account, whether you used an email and password, Google or Apple.
- Your profile: your name, email address, phone number and timezone.
- Your accountability partners (mentors) and the contact details you entered for them, and your list of the people you support (mentees).
- Every alert you have sent, the replies your partners sent to them, and the record of how each alert was delivered.
- Your alert settings, notification preferences and in-app notifications.
- Your registered devices and their push notification tokens.
- Your personal alert reports and trends.
- The copies of your invoices and gift purchases shown in the app, and the saved-card list shown in the app.
- Your seat in any group plan: you are removed from the group, and your name, email address and phone number are cleared from its member list.
This cannot be undone. If you come back to Triggered later, you will start with a new, empty account.
What we keep and why
A small amount of information is kept after your account is deleted:
- Payment and billing records. Payments are processed by Stripe. Stripe keeps its own record of your payments and saved cards under its privacy policy, and we keep records of plans, transactions and gifts bought, referenced by an internal ID rather than your name. We keep these for as long as tax and accounting law requires, generally up to 7 years.
- Gifts you bought for someone else. A gift stays available so its recipient can still redeem it, including the recipient details you entered.
- Information held on other people's accounts. Your partners' and mentees' accounts belong to them. If someone added you as their partner, the contact details they entered for you stay on their account. If you were someone's partner, the replies you sent to their alerts stay with their alerts. When a partner accepted your invitation, your name and contact details were also copied to their list of people they support, and that copy is not currently removed automatically. Contact us and we will remove it.
- Partner invitations and message records. Invitations you sent to partners include your name and contact details so the partner knows who invited them. They stop working 31 days after they are sent. These, and the records of emails and text messages we sent (such as your welcome email), may remain on our systems after your account is deleted. Contact us and we will remove them.
- Anonymous statistics. We keep counts of when alerts are sent (for example the hour and day of the week, and how many partners were alerted). These contain nothing that identifies you and are kept indefinitely.
- Logs and analytics. Server logs and app analytics, including a record that an account was deleted, are kept for a limited time by our hosting and analytics providers under their standard retention periods, after which they are removed automatically.
Deleting some data without deleting your account
You can remove some information yourself in the app at any time:
- Remove a partner from your accountability group.
- Edit or clear your profile details.
- Turn off alert channels (text, email or push) in your settings.
To delete anything else, such as your past alerts, a gift's recipient details, or any of the records listed above, contact us at info@triggered.app or through our contact page. Tell us what you would like deleted and include the email address on your account. We will reply within 30 days.
Teens and parents
Triggered is for people aged 13 and older; users aged 13 to 17 use it with a parent's or guardian's consent. A parent or guardian can ask us to delete a teen's account by contacting us as described above.
